The 2024 Dodgeball World Championships have 6 competitions.

Those are: Cloth Men, Cloth Women, Cloth Mixed, Foam Men, Foam Women, Foam Mixed

In each competition a new world champion is crowned.

All 6 competitions will be eligible for WDBF-world-ranking points.

All competitions will be played simultaniously throughout the entirety of the tournament-duration from August 11th to August 17th, 2024.

Opening Day, Sunday, August 11th: Opening Ceremony & selected games

Finals Day, Saturday, August 17th: 6 Finals, potentially also 6 3rd-place-games.

All 6 competitions will have a group-phase and knockout-phase.

All participating teams will play in the knock-out phase, either in the top-bracket or for positioning games.

The group-sizes are not yet determined. This will happen after the registration is closed (march 31st).

Players must be eligible to play for their respective teams and countries.

WDBF ELIGIBILITY RULES

The Group Sizes will be determined after the registration is closed and a final number of participants is known.

The Group-Draw seeding will be based on the new WDBF world rankings.

The Group Draw itself will be happening in May of 2024.

To this date it is not yet decided how exactly the Knock-Out stage is being shaped. This will also be known after the registration is closed.

However, all teams regardless of their group-table positions will play in the knockout-stage. Either in the top-bracket, or for positioning games, because at the end of the tournament, a final ranking from First to Last needs to be achieved.

Teams are allowed to nominate players in as many teams as they want, if they are eligible to play in the respective competitions.

The schedule will be recognising this, but only for the same ball-types.

We cannot guarantee, that if the same player is nominated for let’s say Mens Cloth and Mens Foam, that there are no overlaps in Games. we can however guarentee, that this is not the case, if it is a double-nomination within the same ball-type, for instance Mens Foam and Mixed Foam.

To this date, it is not yet determined which games are played in which venue.

But both ball-formats are possible to be played in all available venues.

We can however confirm, that the opening day (August 11th) and the finals day (August 17th) are soley happening at the Raiffeisen Sport Park.

The complete schedule will be released in June/July of 2024.

The Roster Size has been determined by WDBF.

Each Team can roster 14 players. 12 players of those 14 must be selected for each game.

Players will have to register, once the team-registration is closed.

This will be connected to the eligibilty-check progress.

The Dodgeball World Championships will be played with WDBF Rules and Regulations. The adapted 2024 rules are now available.

The Dodgeball World Championships will be streamed.

However, due to the size of the tournament, not all courts will be featured.
